Restrictions for Entry into Japan
The Ministry of Justice has announced the denial of permission to land in Japan in order to curb the spread of the New Coronavirus infection. Foreign travelers without special reasons are restricted from entering Japan until further notice.

Reinforcement of Measures to Strengthen Japan Border
Travelers returning to Japan must ensure to check the updated border measures. The latest information is available via the webpages of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Japan) and Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (Japan) below:

Due to the reinforcement of countermeasures and quarantine system, travelers may be required to wait for a long time in the aircraft or at the airport upon arrival.
Passengers returning from restricted areas will be subjected to PCR testing upon arrival in Japan even if they are in good health.
After the PCR test, passengers will be requested to wait at a place designated by the quarantine station until the test results are obtained.
Kindly note that you will not be able to travel by means of public transportation (domestic flights, trains, buses, cabs, passenger boats, etc.) after the test.
The current ban on public transportation is in effect for 14 days after arrival in Japan.
Travelers who have purchased a ticket that includes a connection to a domestic flight in Japan will not be able to travel on the domestic flight route.

Quarantines for Travelers to Overseas / Traveling from Overseas to a Third Country
Travelers are reminded that quarantine systems have been strengthened at most international airports.
Depending on the place of departure and the nationality of the traveler, some countries and regions may impose measures such as entry restrictions, transit restrictions, submission of a negative PCR test certifications, arrival quarantines and restrictions on activities during the stay.
Wearing a mask or face shield is mandatory depending on the airline and destination.
The above measures are updated on a daily basis depending on the status of the pandemic and even if travelers have the required travel documents, the measures may not apply and boarding may be denied.
